This is 95% pure Acetic Acid, used to break down and remove matrix around fossils and to perform Acid-Etched preparation of fossils. Before using on the desired fossils we suggest adding some to scraps of similar matrix, as not all rock types are suitable. Please use protective gloves and goggles when using, and keep in a well-ventilated area, outside the home.
Acetone is used in the professional preservation of fossils. Simply mix with a tiny amount of UHU glue (All purpose adhesive, available from any stationary shop) and it will produce a super strong liquid that can be used to treat fossils (it is also reversible). It will harden fossils, and fill small cracks. Particularly useful to bones and small teeth.
Used to repair and fix pots, baths, sinks, tiles etc. where parts may be damaged or missing, it will also do the same for fossils. This special Putty sets Rock Hard, is fully water and heat resistant, and does not expand or contract. Easy and safe to use. Low Cost. This is the standard 113.4g (4 oz) size box.
Great for fast cutting and used for preparing fossils using Air Grit Blasting. We stock F220 and F320 grade, which are ideal for fast cutting. We sell this product in large containers, holding 5kg, with a carry handle for easy movability. They have a screw lid for perfect storage.
We recommend Pumice Powder for stone tumbling. Our special grade works fast with excellent results. It's cleaner, lighter and more cost effective. 'Tin Oxide' can also be used for that extra shine, and ‘Zinc Oxide’ can be used as a lower grade polish. All our polishing powders of quantities up to 10kg come with a resealable container, whilst higher quantities are shipped as sacks. You can also add plastic pellets, making it go further and polish faster.
Some fossils can become damaged or decay over time if exposed to too much moisture. This gel protects fossils by absorbing the moisture from the air, it turns from Orange to Green when it needs replacing, or regenerating by heating it back to orange. Place with fossils in draws, trays, boxes etc. DO NOT EAT. Each sachet is 10g.
